Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi Meets with Nurtleu, Assistant to the President of Kazakhstan.

On November 13, 2025, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs Wang Yi met in Beijing with Nurtleu, Assistant to the President of Kazakhstan for International Investment and Trade Cooperation.
Wang Yi congratulated Nurtleu on assuming his new post and said that China and Kazakhstan are good friends and good partners sharing a common future. President Xi Jinping and President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met twice this year, providing strategic guidance for the development of bilateral relations, charting a blueprint for all-round cooperation, and setting clear objectives. China and Kazakhstan enjoy solid mutual trust, and bilateral relations have withstood various tests, demonstrating broad prospects for development and enormous potential for cooperation. China stands ready to work with Kazakhstan to deepen the traditional friendship between the two countries, pursue high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, advance cooperation in traditional areas such as energy, green minerals, and connectivity, expand cooperation in emerging fields including nuclear energy and artificial intelligence, and elevate the China-Kazakhstan permanent comprehensive strategic partnership to new heights.

Wang Yi said that Kazakhstan was among the first to support the global governance initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping, for which China expresses its appreciation. The four global initiatives are important international public goods provided by President Xi to the world and have won increasingly broad understanding, support, and recognition. China supports Kazakhstan in playing a greater role in international and regional affairs and is willing to strengthen cooperation with Kazakhstan under multilateral frameworks such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the China-Central Asia mechanism. China also hopes that Kazakhstan will join the International Organization for Mediation at an early date.
Nurtleu conveyed President Tokayev’s greetings to President Xi Jinping. He said that under the joint guidance of the two heads of state, Kazakhstan-China relations have reached a new level, and bilateral cooperation has gained greater momentum. Changes in the international landscape increasingly demonstrate that President Xi Jinping’s important vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind and the Belt and Road Initiative embody profound strategic foresight. After President Xi proposed the global governance initiatives during the Tianjin Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, President Tokayev immediately voiced his support in response. The four global initiatives provide solutions to global challenges and will surely win broad support from the international community. Kazakhstan is willing to work with China to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, further deepen practical cooperation, pursue high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, enhance people-to-people exchanges, and promote the sustained development of the Kazakhstan-China permanent comprehensive strategic partnership.
